Building brand love for a small, family-run business with a PR launch and influencer strategy
BeSaucy is a Brighton-based business founded by siblings Ezda, Dashal and Chan Beevers, former co-founders of Belgian chip shop BeFries. Together, they put the ‘Be’ in BeSaucy – a vegan condiments company with big flavours at its heart.
We were tasked with launching the BeSaucy brand and its initial range of products. Our brief was to get eyes on the brand and drive widespread awareness, with the aim of growing a loyal customer base and connecting with potential wholesalers. It was also important to establish BeSaucy as a trusted business committed to having a positive impact on the environment, while making it easy for consumers to develop more sustainable eating habits.
The PR-led launch targeted local and trade press, securing 29 articles across online, print and broadcast media. Highlights included an interview in The Grocer and features in Vegan Life and FoodChain magazine, as well as front cover features in local newspapers Brighton & Hove Independent and The Argus. Total estimated readership exceeded 5 million individuals.
We also sourced a diverse range of speciality vegan and vegetarian influencers across key cities in the UK, including those promoting a more sustainable lifestyle. Our personalised briefs enabled the BeSaucy team to partner with over 20 individuals, resulting in engaging content that generated more interest around the brand and boosted their following on Instagram.
Overall the campaign generated both retail and consumer demand and helped to secure new wholesalers. It was also a delight to work with a brand that truly cares about its customers and lives by its values: BeHappy, BeKind, BeSaucy.
“Working with Fugu has been an absolute pleasure, they truly understood our story and brand which means so much to us. They worked above and beyond to get us as much coverage and exposure as possible.”
