Account Executive

We are looking for a new Account Executive to join our team.

About you:

You are looking to build your career in PR and communications. You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and are able to produce high quality tailored content to tight deadlines, whether it’s a press release, blog or social media content. You enjoy a hands-on role and love building relationships with clients, journalists and partners. You want to be part of a team that takes an active interest in the wider community.

About the role:

1. Key skills and experience

  • Good written English, including spelling and grammar – able to write short concise paragraphs to communicate a story or message
  • Excellent telephone manner and communication skills
  • Strong analytical/research skills
  • Good basic mathematical skills
  • Excellent organisational skills – ability to plan and diarise diverse workload and juggle and manage multiple deadlines
  • Able to minute meetings (note and write up key action points concisely)
  • Good understanding and interest in the media and current affaris (online, print and TV/radio)
  • Some experience (ideally 1 year to 18 months) of working in a PR or media environment, preferably a communications or PR consultancy

2. Other skills

  • Self starter, able to work on initiative
  • Enthusiastic and eager to learn more about the media industry
  • Able to work and build relationships with a diverse group of people
  • Able to work with a team, to take instructions and meet deadlines
  • Ability to dress smartly and professional for client meetings (casual but presentable dress in the office)

3. Role and responsibilities

 Media planning/media contact

  • Building media databases, researching new contacts and keeping them updated (excel)
  • Proactively identifying new media opportunities (monitor media titles/newspapers/blogs for relevant contacts and build relationships with key writers)
  • Online research into market sectors and industry issues
  • Contacting journalists via email and phone, communicating press releases and feature angles
  • Taking part in creating new content themes and developing news angles, helping develop research themes and ideas, proactively thinking of news hooks and angles


  • Writing press releases, feature articles, social media content and blogs

Social media

  • Excellent social media skills/knowledge, ability to create social media content and set up social media profiles on all platforms
  • A keen interest in developing your social media skills and knowledge for clients


  • Keeping all admin up to date and deliver monthly requirements for clients
  • Creating and regularly updating campaign reports
  • Creating meeting agendas and minutes for monthly client meetings and calls

4. Skills and qualifications

  • PR and media industry knowledge
  • Strong writing, editing and copywriting skills (excellent spelling, grammar)
  • Social media knowledge and skills
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Ability to manage and prioritise workload and take responsibility for meeting deadlines
  • Degree educated
