Generating awareness and helping to establish the UK’s largest celebration of digital culture.
The Brighton Digital Festival is an annual, month-long celebration of all things digital, arts, education and technology. Steered by a consortium of volunteers from Brighton-based businesses, the festival’s aim is to reflect the needs of the local community, whilst opening new opportunities for collaboration and growth in the digital sector.
Since 2011 we’ve been helping the festival create as much publicity as possible and this year was no exception. In 2016 we achieved a total of 147 media articles in international, national, regional, trade, online, radio and TV channels, which generated a reach of over 543+ million worldwide. National and trade coverage included The Guardian, The Times (Raconteur), BBC World Service Click, Easy Jet Traveller, Nursery World, Digital Arts Online and Gizmodo. We also managed all blogger outreach, supported social media campaigns including the newly launched Instagram account and managed relationships with key sponsors, EDF Energy and Vodafone UK.
“This year was the festival’s first as a Community Interest Company and with new management in place, this year saw one of its biggest challenges to date. We surpassed last year with a grand total of 196 events from more than 75 organisers and we couldn’t have done it without all the support from Fugu PR. Fugu showed excellent understanding of the festival’s needs and employed a professional strategy in place, which secured us numerous interview slots and headline news on ITV Meridian. They are both creative and tenacious and are not afraid to challenge the status quo when perusing ideas.”
